An action packed week for pupils at local jamboree

As we catch up with our pupils and find out what they have been up to over the summer, many are talking about a week of fun at Poacher International Jamboree.

A number of our pupils involved in Scouting and Girlguiding attended one of the UK's biggest international jamborees which took place in the summer holidays at Lincolnshire Showground.

Pupils have been talking about the Poacher 2017 which saw them take part in lots of exciting activities with thousands of Scouts and Guides from across the globe.

Year 9 pupil, Matthew, spent a week camping at the event. He said:

"I had a great time enjoying different activities like climbing, crate stacking, looping bikes, bowling, slacklining and catapulting. I also met lots of new people!"

It's not just the pupils who had a great time at the event, some of our staff were involved too; our PR and Communications Manager Gemma Lowe is also Media and Marketing Manager for Lincolnshire Scouts and Video Team Leader for the event:

"Poacher 2017 offered so many young people the chance to have the adventure of a lifetime, it was great to capture lots of the event on camera and I am delighted that some of our Minster School pupils were involved. I have enjoyed hearing from parents and pupils about their experience and am excited to be involved with Poacher 2021!"

We offer lots of exciting co-curricular activities for pupils interested in adventure; including sailing and the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award, for more information: get in touch or keep an eye on our co-curricular pages for more exciting activities.
