Impressive year for LMS Tennis teams

Lincoln Minster tennis teams have had another successful year. They have been involved in many tournaments including an independent school tournament at Queen Margaret’s in York, a district league and LTA AEGON matches.  The pupils have enjoyed weekly tennis lessons from Eastgate coach Sam Bass, And have been very enthusiastic and motivated to play tennis throughout the year. LMS has many teams including under 13 boys and girls and under 15 boys and girls And also a senior boys, girls and mixed team.

One of the highlights this year has to be being nominated and winning the education and also the tennis school of the year awards the Lincolnshire tennis awards earlier in the year.   The school then went on to be nominated for regional awards.   Tennis at LMS

This year saw the second year of the school run the Road to Wimbledon tournament. It was very greatly received with 38 boys and girls participating across Key stage three.  This tournament is still running and in July George B and Bridie M, the winners of the tournament and Jack N and Frankie G, the runners up will go on to compete at the next round.  The national final is eventually played  at Wimbledon!

As the tennis season comes to a close we are very proud to have finished district runners up in the under 15 and under 13 boys league and county runners up in the LTA National Schools AEGON tennis with both the under 13 and under 15 girls.

Well done to all the players that have participated this year in training, matches and showed dedication to their sport .  We very much look forward to watching the continuous growth in tennis at LMS next season.
