Les Deux Alpes Ski Trip

After a long Autumn Term, pupils from Years 5 to 9 along with five members of staff headed off to Les Deux Alps in France for the Junior Ski trip.  Leaving the UK behind, we crossed our fingers for some great snow and we were not disappointed!  With fresh snowfall nearly every day ski conditions were great.  In our different groups, and negotiating the always entertaining ski lifts, we enjoyed ski lessons both in the mornings and the afternoons with great instructors who made each lesson fun.  We all made great progress, made new memories, and enjoyed every moment on the slopes.  Away from the slopes we enjoyed a treasure hunt through the local town, a quiz night, bowling competitions, and ice-skating.  Time away from the slopes was great fun too. A great trip was enjoyed by all and everyone is looking forward to hearing about the next Minster ski adventure.  Thank you to all of the staff who gave their valuable holiday time to take us.  When can we go again, Mr Grocott?

Les Deux Alpes Ski Trip
A huge thanks to Mr Grocott(Party Leader), Mrs Gladwin, Miss Snowden, Mr Taylor and Mr Arden for taking the trip, and posting regular updates through social media to give us a sense of how much fun everyone was having.
A lovely letter was sent from the tour company, Equity, on returning to the UK.  Matthew Parratt, their Director of Operations, wrote,
I was immediately impressed by the polite and patient approach from the children. Skiing for the first time in that environment is always testing but regardless of ability or level, they all took it in their stride and persevered with the challenge, and some of the progress made was certainly beyond the average we would see.  Feedback from both our ESF instructors and hotel staff echoed my sentiments and as you can imagine this is not always the case!  They are a credit to Lincoln Minster.’
Matthew also mentioned what a pleasure it was to spend time over the week with our staff.
