Prep pupils  step inside the world and mind of Van Gogh

Children at the Prep School have been enjoying a fascinating themed week celebrating the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh. They have been learning about his life, his development as an artist and his ultimate failure to gain public recognition. This has allowed us to to consider issues about the importance of mental wellbeing as well as highlighting our core values such  as tolerance, love and mutual respect.
Most importantly though, they have been recognising the sheer joy that can be found in the beauty of his work. All of the Prep school children have visited the Van Gogh Immersive Experience in York and have been involved in art workshops exploring his techniques and unique use of colour..

The week will reach a climax with Friday’s House Challenge which will see each house creating giant reproductions of some of Vincent’s most inspiring work.
Keep an eye out in and around school...the children’s work will be appearing soon!
