Prep School Council Make Induction Booklets for New Pupils

By Sophie Frater 07 September 2018 Prep School News

Our pupil led School Council have produced useful induction booklets for pupils new to the Prep School this academic year.  The booklets were presented to the pupils during the first of our Prep whole school assemblies, which celebrated the success of all of the outstanding achievements made already by LMS pupils. Mrs Thomas awarded pupils with multiple badges and certificates across many areas, including sport and music, both inside and outside the classroom, as well as behavioural rewards for those pupils who have had a fantastic first week. Many of our new pupils who have only been with us for a week, won multiple awards and received their new House Badges. Parents watched on proudly as pupils collected their awards from Mrs Thomas.

The School Council then presented all Year 3s and new pupils across the Year Groups with an Induction Booklet, which is full of information that will help them settle into the school environment - all written from a pupils' perspective! This will be used in future for pupils attending Taster Days.

Pupils sang hymns and discussed the importance of logos throughout the assembly -  looking into what the Lincoln Minster School logo means to them. The pupils told Mrs Thomas they feel the school logo represents kindness, friendship, hard work and enjoyment.

We look forward to this year at the school and we are happy to see our new pupils settling in so well!
