Lincoln Knights Education Trail event with Colin McFarlane

Pupils who have been working as part of the LMS Knight’s Team attended last night’s Lincoln Knights Education Trail closing ceremony at the Waterside Shopping Centre.

The event, organised by The EBP (Educational Business Partnership), welcomed a guest appearance from internationally renowned actor Colin McFarlane, star of many films and TV shows - from Batman to Eastenders.

Mr McFarlane has lived in Lincolnshire for many years and has well established connections with local schools through his Making History project, which began in 2011.

Lincoln Knights Education Trail Colin McFarlanePupils had the opportunity to talk at length with the local actor about their Knight Project experiences and were most pleased to be reunited with their knight - Sir Jonathan - after his long summer vacation at the Usher Gallery. Some of the staff involved with the Knights project also enjoyed an inspiring presentation from the actor about the making History Project and its potential future outreach to the wider community.

The Senior School Art Department at Lincoln Minster School is looking forward to piloting a new collaboration with the EBP and the Making History team, to enable our students to learn how to develop personal storylines that connect them to society on a deeper level, through the power of learning about their family history using state of the art digital technology and moving image.
