Senior School Pupil wins ESU Shakespeare Competition

Huge congratulations to Year Nine pupil Gabriel for being joint winner of the English Speaking Union's Performing Shakespeare Competition 2019.
The National Final took place in London on the 21st June, with over twenty schools from across the country competing. Each school entered a monologue or duologue, with pupils performing in front of a packed audience in the beautiful setting of Dartmouth House in Mayfair, the ESU Headquarters. The standard of performing was extremely high and we were absolutely thrilled to hear Gabriel's name called!

The day was also attended by ten other pupils from Years 7-9, who had taken part in the Internal and Regional Heats. As well as supporting Gabriel, they also enjoyed a professionally run workshop (and a bonus demonstration of magic in Hamley's on the way to the competition)! We all had a wonderful day, and arrived home tired, but very happy!
