U15 District Champions

Last week the U15 girls rounders team travelled to QEHS Gainsborough to play in the District tournament. The girls were a bit shaky to start with, but learnt some lessons in the first match. Excellent progress was made. They started to communicate and adapt their tactics. After the group round we were pleasantly excited to make it through to the semi-finals. We came up against a strong team from Branston. The girls put pressure on the fielding team- which resulted in the opposition making mistakes and a win for LMS. Into the finals we went! Great captaincy from Anna W and a very pumped up team led us with a positive mind set into the final against QEHS (who we had previously lost to in the initial stages). I cannot express how exciting the game was. Some great fielding contained QEHS to 7 rounders. A nail-biting batting innings- we were drawing with 1 ball left to play. It was “slogged” by Ella Gdeep into the field. We won 8-7!

It was an amazing tournament and I was extremely proud of the team effort.
