Year 1 pupils recently enjoyed a Medieval banquet, scaled castle walls and became Knights for the day at Lincoln Castle.
The trip on Tuesday 30th January saw pupils learn about William the Conqueror and the Battle of Lincoln before reaching dizzying heights atop the castle walls and learning all about Lincoln Castle.
Back inside, they experienced the delights of a Medieval banquet, tasting oat cakes with cheese and tasty ginger biscuits, and making toast as they did in Medieval times.
Pupils enjoyed designing and making their own shields to prepare them for a fun afternoon at the prestigious Knight School - where they attempted jousting and archery before trying on some of the armour.
Key Stage 1 Teacher, Laura Kirkby, said:
"A wonderful day was had by all and we were blessed by glorious sunshine! Everyone learned lots about Medieval times, although some of the children weren't so sure about being knights after feeling how heavy the helmets were!"
