From athletics to show jumping, Year 7 pupil Lucy has enjoyed a busy Easter break.

Taking part in the British Athletics Youth Development League, Lucy enjoyed some great results with First Place in the under 13’s high jump and Second Place in the under 13 girls 1500 metre race as well as success in the under 13’s girls relay where she not only kept the lead, but extended it.

Lucy has also been very busy with her new pony, Pancake; the pair have qualified for lots of big Show Jumping events in the summer, having got several first place rosettes.

Lucy and Pancake have qualified Lincoln Minster School for the British Show Jumping for Schools Championships at Stoneleigh in August; this is a league event running from winter 2016 to summer 2017, schools with the most points qualify for Stoneleigh.

With Pancake being a new pony, Lucy decided to enter one of the direct qualifiers, British Show Jumping only run three such competitions in the whole of UK and only the top three riders qualify. Lucy and Pancake got 3rd place, over a big 90cm track to qualify. They also only narrowly missed qualifying for the 80cm with a 4th place.

Great work Lucy and good luck for the summer; an exciting event for the school to look forward to.
